Mass Communications Video Productions
SMC Productions is the School of Mass Communications’ video production unit, providing professional production and post-production services to a select group of clients in the Tampa Bay area.
All projects must provide high quality video experience for mass communications students. SMC clients are primarily University of South Florida academic units, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations.
SMC Productions provides clients with video production services for public service announcements, seminars, training sessions and workshops.
Students participate in SMC Productions as volunteers, as part of credit-earning course work or--for the most experienced--as student employees. All students have previous videography and post-production experience, and students are supervised in all production aspects by a professional employee.
Because every video production is different, costs vary. Field videography rates start at $25 per hour and SMC Productions’ three camera studio rents for $150 per hour, which includes the cost of a crew. Post-production editing rates start at $25 per hour.
